ABOUT US
Doug Martin began his career in the inspection industry as a Technical Field Inspector for a structural engineering firm. From there, he further expanded his inspection skills by becoming a Certified Home Inspector and through his experiences there developed a specialized interest in residential energy efficiency.
Doug has spent the last 18 years in the Lower Mainland advising architects, new home builders, renovators, and homeowners as a Certified Energy Advisor with Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan), Office of Energy Efficiency. He is licensed with NRCan to provide their EnerGuide for Houses (EGH), EnerGuide for New Houses (EGNH), and EnerGuide for Multi-Unit Residential Buildings (MURB) evaluations, modeling, reports, and air-leakage testing. He has extensive experience in providing energy efficiency building code plan reviews, modeling, and compliance reports along with building envelope air leakage testing. He finds satisfaction in helping to improve our environment through helping homeowners reduce their energy consumption and making their homes most comfortable to live in.
